What is Polygon?

Polygon is a network that helps Ethereum scale by processing transactions faster and more cheaply. POL is its native token and the successor of MATIC: the migration from MATIC to POL started in September 2024.

POL is used to pay transaction fees on Polygon PoS and to stake with the validators that secure the network. Many Ethereum applications and stablecoins are also available on Polygon.
