What is BNB?

BNB is the native coin of BNB Smart Chain (BSC), an EVM-compatible blockchain known for low fees and fast blocks. It was created by Binance in 2017 and today is used to pay transaction fees on BNB Smart Chain and to take part in its ecosystem.

Because BNB Smart Chain is compatible with Ethereum tools, many tokens exist in both ERC-20 and BEP-20 versions. A regular "auto-burn" mechanism permanently removes BNB from circulation, aiming to reduce the total supply over time.
