How to protect your crypto account: 7 habits
Most crypto losses start with phishing or a stolen login. Seven practical steps to secure your Escoin account.
Attackers rarely break a blockchain. They go after the account owner instead, usually with a fake website, a fake support agent or a password stolen from another site. The steps below close those doors.
1. Use a unique, long password
Never reuse the password of your e-mail or another site. A password manager makes long, unique passwords easy.
2. Turn on two-factor authentication or a passkey
On Escoin Exchange, two-factor security (an authenticator app or a passkey) is required for withdrawals and security changes. Keep your authenticator backup safe and offline.
3. Set your anti-phishing code
In your Profile you can set a secret word that appears in every real e-mail from Escoin. An e-mail without your code is fake.
4. Use the withdrawal address whitelist
With "whitelist only" turned on, withdrawals can go only to addresses you saved, and a newly added address becomes usable only after a 24-hour hold. Even if someone gets into your account, they cannot withdraw to their own address straight away.
5. Check every link and account
Scammers copy websites and create fake Telegram and X accounts. Paste any link, e-mail address or @username into Escoin Verify to see whether it is official. Our staff never message you first.
6. Never share secrets
Nobody from Escoin will ever ask for your password, 2FA code, backup codes, seed phrase, private keys or remote access to your device. We also never ask you to send money for "verification".
7. Know the emergency button
If you think your account is compromised, use Freeze my account in your Profile: all sessions close, open orders are cancelled and API keys stop working. Then contact us through the Support page.
